Dr Heather Sequeira: Consultant Psychologist
FIERCELY NON-PATHOLOGISING & EMPIRICALLY DRIVEN
One of the most compelling CPD workshops I’ve attended. Every section offered something that made me stop and think, ‘I never knew that.’ The content blends neuroscience, attachment, and trauma theory in a way that’s both evidence-based and easy to apply. I came away with memorable insights, key research to draw on, and a deeper understanding of complex trauma that I can genuinely use in practice. It’s the kind of training that i genuinely feel raises my clinical game.
I attended this to update my existing skills and it was excellent. I cannot praise it highly enough. I work in physical health primarily and found it developed my understanding about all aspects of trauma and its management from assessment through to formulation and treatment. Whether you work primarily in a trauma therapy setting or not, this is an excellent course.
I have done many training courses in the past but this has by far been the most informative and beneficial to my work that I do., The way the Dr Heather explains and gives examples on how to support clients is phenomenal. I really look forward to doing future courses and training with Dr Heather and will be recommending her training to my team as well.
The PTSD Master workshop is a learning opportunity every therapist, social worker and any in pastoral care needs. The Interactive ,Socratic dialogue, and role play ‘shows’ rather than tells how therapeutic clients can ‘ be different from how they are now.’ (Heather’s words). The depth of knowledge, the critiqued experience and ability to communicate and elicit new learning from participants that Heather offers excels and motivates mental health practitioners to highest standards and realistic hope for their clients.
✨ “What an absolute privilege it was to learn from Dr. Heather! The PTSD/TRAUMA Masters Class was truly an eye-opening and transformative experience. I gained insights I never knew before, and the ‘show, don’t tell’ practical sessions were especially powerful. I am confident that applying what I’ve learned will bring a profound and positive impact to my practice. Thank you so much, Dr. Heather, for sharing your wisdom so generously.
With gratitude and love.

This workshop allowed insight into the therapy process with a client that has PTSD. Through the role-play, it allowed us to understand the process and how complex PTSD is. It was eye-opening.
Heather has a wonderful way of educating. I haven’t found anyone as engaging as I find her. I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and will definitely be doing more.
Thank you Heather and also a big thanks to Jonathan who brought the client to life for us!
This is an amazing workshop. It is integrative, interactive, practical, and has extensive evidence-based knowledge. Dr. Heather brings the depth of experience from years of practical work, personal adaptations, and research-based grounding to everything discussed in the course. For me, this course solidified and grounded some more intuitively used elements of therapy as well as introduced new, clearly presented practical steps in PTSD work.
This was the best trauma training I've attended (and I've attended many)! Heather's approach is very experiential and engaging, which makes the learning really click and stick. Rationale behind everything is explained, which further cements the information. Plenty of extremely useful metaphors, techniques, tools, and resources (many going beyond trauma and apply to any therapeutic work). This will change how I do formulation and work with clients with trauma forever and I couldn't recommend it enough!
This is my third workshop with Dr. Sequeira. I wanted to attend the Actionable Neuroscience workshop to update my current understanding around the fundamentals relating to anxiety and Trauma. It served as a great recap of some topics and provided new information and a deeper understanding of the basic neuroscience underpinning Trauma. Dr. Sequeira's delivery was, as always, clear and "jargon' free with a real focus on physiology, agency, and keeping things simple for the clients. I would recommend this workshop to anyone working in the field of trauma/anxiety.
I found this workshop both engaging and insightful. It provided me practical takeaways that I am excited to apply moving forward!
This training gave a fascinating insight into the neuroscience for stress, trauma and anxiety. Heather is extremely knowledgeable and makes this subject accessible and clear for all learners. She provides useful tips on how to explain the concepts with clients and simple suggestions for techniques to manage stress. Heather is engaging and enthusiastic and brings neuroscience to life!
I would highly recommend this training for anyone providing talking therapies with clients who have experienced trauma. Heather highlights the importance of combining talking therapies with physiological awareness and body based techniques. This training has really helped me to make sense of the symptoms and behaviours that we see in clients who have experienced trauma, and this will enable me to explain it to my clients in a non-shaming way.
What made this workshop truly stand out was its empowering approach. Rather than pathologising the stress response, Dr Sequeira reframed it through the lens of neuroscience—helping us understand the intricate cascade of chemical reactions, the role of early attachment, and the embodied nature of threat arousal. The material was presented in a way that was both intellectually stimulating and deeply validating.
Highlights included:
Insights into how breath patterns and visual stimuli can regulate alertness
Practical, real-time interventions that can be used personally or with clients
A nuanced look at how sleep, exercise, and our biological clock interact with stress reactivity
A compassionate exploration of how early life experiences shape adult nervous system responses
Dr Sequeira’s ability to distil complex neuroscience into actionable strategies was great. The training offered not just knowledge, but tools—tools that can genuinely shift how we experience and respond to stress. It was especially refreshing to see the emphasis on de-stigmatising high stress and anxiety, and on integrating these insights into therapeutic practice.
I highly recommend this training.
I attended Heather's workshop today to deepen my knowledge and understanding about neuroscience and how this translates with client work around anxiety, stress and trauma. Heather presented a vast amount of material and research findings in the workshop. The workshop was nicely paced and interactive as Heather encouraged participants. Heather's diagram of the brain demonstrated the layers of complexity around the subject area linking the brain, body and the nervous system in an inspired way. This course is so relevant to practioners from all modalities. I will certainly book onto other workshops with Heather.
Heather has an excellent and broad knowledge of the interaction of trauma on micro and macro individual and group factors. This is supported by her training and work as a clinical psychologist. Well explained in ways that can be applied within clinical work. Highly recommended training.
This training is very interactive and full of opportunities to ask questions and discuss topics as a group. Dr Heather brings in valuable knowledge that you can use with your clients and also demonstrates how to appropriately use the learned tool and techniques with an actor client so you get a full experience. Highly recommend the training I still use technique to help my clients today.

"As an experienced & seasoned practitioner I still walked away with developments to my practice that I could apply

"A strong empirical backbone & more importantly - an honest acknowledgment of what is going on in the therapy
